Effects of the addition of graphene on the compressive strength of geopolymeric mortar developed from k-feldspar mining waste

Contemporary organizations are showing a growing interest in the reuse of solid waste from industrial processes with intention reducing environmental impacts and costs. The mining activity is one main generators Brazil. In parallel, geopolymeric materials have been gaining prominence studies that make it possible substitute for ordinary Portland cement, due to its advantages. Therefore, present research proposes study feasibility using K-feldspar as raw material manufacture geopolymer cements. addition, line latest technological trends, addition multi-layered graphene was evaluated structural reinforcement mortar. Graphene added three percentages: 0.1 wt.%, 0.3 wt.% 0.5 wt.%. Specimens were produced order evaluate compressive strength these materials. As complementary characterization, analysis EDX, laser diffraction particle size XRD performed, well SEM TEM used. results showed geopolimerization effective 0.5% content promoted significant increase 65% strength. It concluded, therefore, achieved mechanical values, studied can be applied mortar auxiliary structures geopolymerization technique used promote increases produced.
